A History of the International Baccalaureate
The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) is an international, educational non-profit foundation established in 1968 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Middle Years Programme (MYP), which is for ages 11-16, was established in 1994, and the Primary Years Programme (PYP), for children ages 3-12, in 1997.
The Diploma Programme (DP), for students ages 16-19, was the first program offered. It was originally created to provide a common curricular framework for geographically mobile students of diplomats and military personnel.
